Earthenware Bowls

We supply two styles of earthen censer bowls. Both in natural earth colours (terracotta), glazed on the inside only, with Eartharomas and the four cardinal directions (medicine wheel) etched into a violet coloured band on the inside rim.

The earthen pot at the top of the picture is a smudge snuffer or “Sm’uffer”. It features the medicine wheel and is designed to extinguish smudge bundles safely, quickly and with no fuss so to get the most out of your bundles.

Style one has a socket to hold a candle - useful for lighting your smudge bundle and also adds a lovely ambience to the occassion. The bowl can be filled with sand which is a safe way of extinguishing the bundle once the smudging is complete..

Style two is an open bowl to contain sand for extinguishing your smudge bundle.

It is also ideal for using with a charcoal disc and loose herbs for creating a profound space during ritual, meditation, cleansing or healing rituals.

It is also an ideal way to store your smudging materials between uses.

For static smudging, on occassions when you need to have your hands free or don't wish to be distracted by holding a smouldering smudge bundle, we supply packaged loose herbs (the same herbs and blends we use to make Eartharomas smudge bundles) and charcoal discs.

The charcoal discs are easily ignited by candleand burn slowly and uniformly for up to an hour or so on a bed of sand. The smudging is easily done by sprinkling a small amount of the herbs of your choice over the charcoal once it is ignited.

Our smudge bundle snuffer, or “Sm’uffer”, features the medicine wheel and is designed to extinguish smudge bundles safely, quickly and with no fuss so to get the most out of your bundles.

It is easier, cleaner and more effective to use for extinguishing smudge bundles at the completion of a smudging session than sand as it works by depriving the bundle of oxygen.
